Exactly. This is why I'm hoping it'll be worked into the DAAT system and taught at the academies before I ever have to spear someone. The guy who trained me it attempting at working it into the DNR's DAAT curriculum. He's already trained quite a few wardens. Some of the things you can use spear with are easily articulated, i.e. a sucker punch.

my last two DT classes had a little bit of it. It's ok, but I doub't I'll use it.

OTOH, I was talking to another officer who used it followed by an elbow strike and knocked the guy out. He said he liked it

    Interesting

I have never heard about SPEAR here in Spain, I have checked their website and I have got convinced, it seems to be very useful and effective. My problem is that I can't access to that training here because it doesn't exist, so that I would need to attend to any SPEAR course in the States.
After reviewing SPEAR website I couldn't find info about course prices, does anybody know about that?

Our agency started teaching it about 6 months back. I think it is a good system, but its not the solve-all-problems system. Just like any other technique, its another good tool in the toolbox and has its uses.

    S.P.E.A.R. System

I'm sure a lot of you have heard about Tony Blauer's S.P.E.A.R. system. I just started a 2 day training class today which is being taught by another Ranger. This system is really good. In the 4 hour block we had today (another 5 hours tonight) I learned so much more than I thought I could. It's quite a paradigm shift in going from "create distance by moving backwards" to the "create distance by forward movement" mindset... but wow... I'm already a firm believer. If any of you get a chance to learn it.. I highly recommend it.

Anyone else on o.com trained with it?
