I just wanted to know what extra lights he guys put in yours cars. Also how you had them set up?

If the city doesn't want to pay for mine, then I'm not putting it in my car. I'm sinking enough money into my bicycle as it is.

IMO My whole car could be a blue light and the idiots still won't get out of my way so it doesn't matter.

Aggh I'll jump on. Our bars are anywhere from 9-15 year old FS Streethawks. I was lucky enough to get good results polishing the lenses to get them to be mostly clear again, and not the usual opaque haze of most of the others.

As for add ons, LEDs are the way to go. Whelen Slimlighter up front, 911EP WL28 28" LED on the rear.

Corner strobes are on the to do list and possibly some Whelen TIR3 single led modules for some extra corner visibility.

The mode of thinking of most is why add more. I thought about this but the super brightness of the LEDs is better both day and night, The dashlights IMO keep people from seeing into the car at night and the rears are extra help from getting struck from behind.

Oh, and if we turn on the flashers on the bar it activates the camera, so turning the LEDs on meets policy for warning of a traffic hazard if I am parked on a call somewhere in the way and I dont have to mess with the camera if I dont need to be the one taping.

I think I saw one at a yard sale last weekend. I would have bought it but I didn't have $12 on me.

I would say that 1/2-2/3 or better of the Minneapolis squads still have street hawks on them.

I have a vector bar and enjoy it. It came from one of the older cruisers.

The Street Hawk isn't THAT bad...we still have a few floating around but all the new cars 2003-up have gone to the Arjent all LED bars.

The trick to the Street Hawks is to keep the lenses from getting all hazy and green.

When I started, it was four bulb beacons and Twinsonics....the Street Hawk was a big deal when we first got them.

I miss the old setup -- exposed speaker in the middle, sandwiched between red alternating flashers, with bubble rotators from Mars on the outside edges (which had the then-advanced technology of little vertical clear slits all the way around the colored dome). Things have changed.
