12 hour shifts for large Sheriff Agencies

We have 60 ofcrs on the 12 hour schedule. They all love it. Same as most, 2on, 2off, 3on, 2off, 2on, 3off. The extra 4 hours per pay period are compensated for every 6th week with a 12 hour "kelly day" off. I switched to an 8 hour shift a couple years ago, and am glad to be back on the 12's. The administration has found a decrease in the use of sick time by the way.
