On this anniversary, we honor the memory of a good man, husband, brother, friend and motorman. He was a man of honor, integrity and natural leadership skills. Traits that many speak of but few possess. Traits, in this time of misinformation, misunderstanding and inexcusable ignorance, that are more important than ever.

He served our great Republic and this community in quiet dignity before sacrificing all for the citizenry he served. He remains an example for those who follow in his footsteps and for those who lead men and women of action.

I remember the guidance and friendship of a mentor and the grin behind the Oakley's. We remember the depth of his knowledge, experience and dedication; and the good heart of a caring man.

And we feel the void of our missing motor.

    Ride in peace Matt

Five years ago we lost a motorman.
We lost a natural leader who shunned the spotlight and recognition. We lost a man of integrity, conviction and honor. A Marine, Deputy, brother, husband and friend, he was proud of his profession, the uniform and our mission. His knowledge and experience made him a mentor to many of us and the example of a good motor cop. His character, discipline and work ethic represented the positives of the Old School and provided leadership for the inexperienced.
Our loss was not suffered only by the squad or the agency, but also by the community he served. Men and women of action, of his caliber, are rare. And we were blessed to serve with one of them.
