That coupled with the fact the media presents such wild, ficticious images of LE & even the "reality" shows like "Cops" basically glorifies bad policing by friends of the shift/squad supervisor, why wouldn't the aveage civilian have questions. I'm not talking about the the usual "opencarry.org" loonies that like to bait & argue---I'm talking about the guy that really doesn't see the logic of DUI roadblocks or never thought about why officers utilize discretion instead of being a paper-pushing robot. These people are entitled & occassionally ask legitimate questions that should've been answered by their local officers at the time of their particular "problem".
Now if you came from a "cop family" you probably grew up already knowing alot of what's asked. But if you're like me, who only had friends whose Father's were in LE & prior to my career & the Internet had to seek them out & ask questions this Site can be a good tool. For the LEOs here--think back before you came into LE & some of the "weird" pre-conceived ideas you had or what you didn't even know or think of & maybe cut some of these people some slack. If you don't like the question, don't answer it. Belittleing them or being sarcastic only re-affirms the idea they may have. You only need to be 2% smarter than what you're dealing with- and in some cases THAT really isn't hard.
Great thoughts, and very true. OTH, the OP asks a seemingly valid question, the forum makes an honest effort to answer the question truthfully, even tactfully. The OP is dissatisfied, and rags on an individual Officer, or the forum in general. When that happens, quite a few of us, including me, fire back. Justifiably so, IMHO.

The "deer in the city limits" is a prime example of one such post

Even after having his question answered the OP continues to rant about his presentation and not liking the replies

Well let me be the first to say (said this before)

    I don't care

Not ready for a "real" answer Then don't ask
Agree totally with your thoughts. But, then,..................Ain't it really kind of fun to screw with those clowns? Gotta love the self rightous clown who admits to doing 95 in a 45, but still wants advice on how to beat the ticket. In the field, we have to try to be nice to these mental midgets. Here, we don't have to.

Purdue is the university, Perdue is who my family raised chickens for when I was a kid. Not trying to be the spelling police, but its a common mixup. One that's often led to the question of "Why does a university want 40,000 chickens?"

I just figure their favorite porn site is down and their bored. Rather than get mad about their responses now, I just look forward to seeing their brains being taken out and played with while they watch. Kinda has the same voyeristic effect IMO

I stay away from there. The only time I head in there is when I need a good laugh or when someone PMs me and says, "Sarge, you GOTTA see this one!!"

Agreed. You know from those two words that there is no point in replying.

Sometimes I like the debate, sometimes I get tired of it. But it is never personal just like dealing with these fools in real life.
