  • Arrest Warrants - Tactics

Can anyone please share tactical knowledge/information regarding how to find subjects with an arrest warrant? Thank you.

    An "Insane Clown Posse" concert,

    A Tractor Pull,

Or Dennys between 3 and 5 AM.

Check the dumpster for dumpster divers! Usually meth hoarders looking to salvage something.

If they don't have a warrant..yeah right...they will either have some on their person or they will be under the influence.

      Happy hunting!!!!

This profession is not for people looking for positive reinforcement from the public. Very often it can be a thankless job and you can't desire accolades, because those are not usually forthcoming. Just do your job to the best of your ability and live with the decisions you've made.

Do you mean finding them when you have their warrant in hand or, finding likely warranted subjects that "look the part."

As for the former, I used to just luuuuuuv walking in to their place of employment and snatching them up in front of their boss / coworkers.

Wait for them to walk into the station and say "I have an arrest warrant. Arrest me!"

Usually this work well in winter from what I understand.

I sit down and find their mama's number. I usually call on Sunday's right after church. I tell mama that I sure do hate to have to bring a patrol car to her house on this fine Sunday. Mama makes the child (age does not matter) come in.

I believe this only works in the South.

I don't agree with your opinion, but I respect its straightforwardness in terms of wrongness.

We can induce a surprising number of fugitives to do this by simply asking. Put out the message, by phone or mail, that if they show up at the station with bail money in hand they'll get the matter taken care of with a minimum of fuss. Otherwise, Smurfette will show up at Momma's house Sunday after church.

Anyone remember the "You have just won $10,000!" Scam?

The idiots would get the call or a registered letter and they would be told to come to an office somewhere to claim their prize. When they showed up they were arrested.

                        Sweet.

Probation Officer here in Nor Cal. In my county, Code 5 at the county social services (welfare) dept. on the monthly check dispersion day is a great tactic. They NEVER pass up their check from "the man"...gotta buy beer and cigarettes. We frequent social services quite a bit with our SO and PD bros to hook and book warrants. Works out great if there are children present as well. We can be sure they're in good hands with a caring social service staff member.

I heard from an old timer that they would find a suspect's ride... and then take paper, rags, whatever they could find and light a fire right behind their car. Then someone would yell... your cars on fire!!! Once the suspect ran out to save his car, they would hook him up!!!
Yes I'm a LEO... but I do no care enough to go through the trouble of changing the screen name.... sorry
