  • Touchy Subject - LEO's Last Call

I am putting together a presentation regarding DWI accidents and fatalities. I would like to include the audio portion (radio traffic, etc) of an Officer's last call from a funeral to hammer the point home at the end of the presentation. Does anyone have a MP3 or WAV format clip of this? PM me and I'll give you my e-mail. Thanks for the help.

I don't know if you can snag audio off videos, but the audio from this video always brings about 500 tears to my eye http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjxJxwHNNlw . There's an officer's last roll call over the radio on it, then officers give farewell wishes on the radio as well.

I was looking for the 10-7 last call also, if anyone has that or a link. I like to hear it from time to time, remember a fallen brother.
You have the right to remain silent, but apparently you lack the skill to exercise that right.

Wow, that was a looong last call. I thought it was cool that everyone gets to chime in on the radio. Ours aren't as long. Dispatch calls the fallen agent and waits for an answer (the radio silence seems like forever) three times, then someone advises that unit is 10-7, 10-42. I'll tell you, this is the point where even the most composed guys loose it, and all of a sudden something blows into their eye or they get a sudden allergy... I really hate funerals.
"You don't want the truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall... I have neither the time, nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it."

Being a good street cop is like coming to work in a wet suit and peeing in your pants. It's a nice warm feeling, but you're the only one who knows anything has happened.

I was watching some of the videos and they left me speechless and heartfelt.

                    Everytime....

I watch them every now and again to bring myself "down to reality". It could just as easily be me or one of my parters.
