  • 112......emergency number??

anyone know of 112? if you obviously dial 911 from a cell phone, it says attempting emergency phone call. If i dial 112 from my cell phone and press send, the same thing comes up, attempting emergency phone call. Where does 112 go to, same as 911? any ideas?

112 is an internationally recognized cell number- mainly used in Europe. The USA adopted 911, the UK adopted 999, however 112 is the internationally recognized emergency number. The information I read was a little fuzzy as to whether all phones have this or all areas- but a 112 call should be automatically directed to the tower's local emergency dispatch center.

      Thats right!

By us in Germany you reached with 112 the emergancy-call from the firedepartment and with 110 the emergancy-call from the police.

When the call was for the police or the firedep. then the informations where give to the police or firedepartment.
