RED HOOK — The Department of Transportation reported Route 9 near the intersection of Rokeby Road has been reopened after a rollover accident involving a corrections van.

The van carried three officers and two prisoners.

Two guards in serious condition were transported by Northern Dutchess Paramedics to Saint Francis Hospital. Three others refused medical attention, officials said at the scene.

Check back later for more updates.

Only place I've seen the story is on pojonews, but unfortunately their promise of updates on past stories leaves a lot to be desired. Might have to wait for tomorrows paper.

Update! THIS WAS NOT NYS DOCS! This was a van owned and operated by the NYS OCFS. The inmates were juvenile inmates and the "officers" were actually Counselors and Specialists. If you check the link up above, you can see there are no markings showing what facility they are from. I believe all facility vans have a 3-letter marking with vehicle number next to it. The Poughkeepsie Journal picture shows a black van with no markings. Here is a link to the real story!

And you call yourselves "Trained Observers"!!!

LOL.... Only NYSDOCS vans I have seen were blue and green ones. The picture of a black van with no facility markings should have tipped you all off.

LOL....Does this make me smart? Or just really bored with a thousand-yard stare?? LOL... Well, I am glad that it wasn't anyone in blue, and unfortunately it wasn't anyone in green, right!!!

Lyon Mountain has a white transportation van...... but he is right about the markings.....all facility vehicles have a 3 letter facility abbreviation and a number on both doors and the rear of the vehicle.
