I have seen the state looking for Correctional Case Managers. The job description seems vague. What exactly do they do? Are they planning activities and meeting with inmates to schedule work details, or are they the guys that accompany them on the road? Thanks for any answers.

Case managers are the ones inmates are supposed to go to when they have questions about jail credit, gain time, drug rehab, GED, release date, job assignments etc.
They also over see all the volunteers, educational programs, and inmate classification at the facility. They are also certified as correctional officers, when the need arises they can be used to fill vacant posts. Each facility is different and what one CM does at one facility they may not do at another, but the basic duties are all the same.
(The ones you see working inmates on the roadside are Correctional Officers. CM's are non uniformed personnel)Last edited by Bowles; 03-31-2007, 10:24 PM.Be sure you're right, then go ahead
