I don't think they do nearly as much as we did when I was at Galt a few years ago. Three miles on the track at 0500, then to SGH for some sit ups and push ups, that's was everyother day. Then to the gym for arobics or stretching, and to the wieght room for some circuit training. After that off to the showers and breakfast, if you handle it. Classes generally start at 0800 til noon, then lunch, and classes til about 1600. Then dinner, and study, study, study.
Go to the message board www.pacovilla.com and look around. Some have said that in a previous academy the most he ever ran was 1.75 miles. It is not very physical at all from what I have been reading.
That being said, being physically fit will make the job easier to deal with. You will be on your feet for 8 hours straight(16 if you pull a double). That will be easier if you are fit. Also, if I have to fight with an inmate I'd prefer to be in shape so that I could survive.
