Not every pasture is greener It appears to be a non 6C retirement If thats the case if you have less than 20 years in you loose LE retirement (means you revert to 1% instead of 1.7% and no Social Security Supplement) AND can't retire until you are in your 60's without serious penalty. Also if you have under 10 years you loose your LEOSA credentials

in625shooter it's a 'detail' meaning it is temporary deployment. You wouldn't lose anything.

Diddy, respectfully I re read it and saw the TDY part But I'm not sure how you can be loaned out on a detail for a higher grade than what you are So this is probably 9 or higher Like the TDUys BOP has to NY and Yazoo or Florence Never turns out well.

Question for you anyone familiar with the process. I attended the career fair for BOP last Saturday at FMC Carswell. I previously applied and received a BQ rating. They took the people with the BQ rating and tested them first thing. So I passed the CVA, then I interviewed and did the written scenario. I had to fill out a bunch of forms, they pulled my credit which have no issues. My question is what can I expect next? A typical timeframe? They kept saying they are hurting for people.

I'm currently at Carswell! Yes we are still looking for more people. The timeline from now should be quick, with them reaching out to schedule your physical and UA within a couple weeks of your interview date. Best of luck, hope to see you around work!

I haven't personally but have known a few staff that have. All about how driven you are Don't count on having that luxury while on the Rookie roster though.

I do know of people who have finished their law degrees while working as BoP COs. I can't say how difficult that is or isn't though. Some of them have gone on to work as attorneys for BoP aftewards.

Have my interview at USP Atlanta on Thursday. I’m still active duty in GA so they are doing it for USP Leavenworth that I’m in the process for. I hear the process after the interview is too lengthy. I’ll be out of the Army early June so I’m hoping it’s too long after.

Has anyone come across this issue in your e-QIP in the employment section? I've attempted to complete my employment section 12 times in the past 2 days and I cant submit because this is what it's telling me. I do not have any gaps in my employment as well.

If there are breaks in employment you must list those as unemployment. They want every month of the 7 years accounted for.

This isn’t a very active room but knocked out Testing, Interview, Urinalysis, Medical last week in Atlanta and got my Tentative Offer from USP Leavenworth. Just waiting on Eqip info. Haven’t seen too many people who have worked at Leavenworth but I’ll be in Kansas City after I leave the Military in June.

Leavenworth has an excellent reputation overall. Every Federal prison is different. Some are best avoided. But Leavenworth always has had a very good reputation. Hope you like it!

They scheduled my interview, medical, and urinalysis all at the same time immediately after i returned the OF-5 and other documents and it was about a week out.

Everyone knows about Fort Leavenworth military Prison, but for those that don't know is the prisoners make vocational things (Everything from custom Sheet Metal grills to Business Cards, hell they even do the name tapes for the ARMY) and yet only available to purchase by various military groups and also the BOP.
