  • FCC Forrest City, AR. Has a camp, low, and medium. Anything particularly good or bad about it, or is it "typical?" Thanks.

nope they dont. if you want to get picked up faster id pick an FCC like Pollock or Yazoo as your first choice.

The second choice is completely irrelevant no one is gonna get an interview for a second choice I dunno why they even have that on there

        • Is either the FDC or FCI in Miami in need of people? Had my app sitting for about 6 months and nothing

Ah, I see. So Coleman would be the better bet and attempt to transfer from there. Thanks for the info

Actually I doubt it would be Coleman's staffing levels were really good I heard they weren't gonna be hiring externally for a while

FCI Miami came out with an announcement for Senior Officer about 4 months ago. Usually it's difficult to get hired off the street at a homestead joint. Try applying at any FCC or USP.

        • Does fcc tucson do alot of hiring?

M/W you will be surrounded by staff some of which are so far removed from reality it's better than a Netflix series. Lots of counts, Food service wakeups and rounds.

As far as BPT I won't get into it on an open forum but lots of policy local proceedures an issues as well as firearms. Runs 3-5 days depending on institution. Some places require one to be off probationary status. Again local suppliment dictates.

D/W looking like the worst shift right now besides having more staff off duty.

                • I'm on M/W this rotation, it's just doing your counts, rounds. Hardest part is staying awake. Going to D/w in two weeks and I'm dreading it, I Would prefer E/W.

Yeah we did all that ojt on day watch. It just seem too busy. Evening watch is the 4 o clock stand up count. You do your rounds/ pat downs and shake downs?

                        Pretty much none

                    • I wouldn't worry to much because officers there will run you up on what to do.. I only got one day ojt and it wasn't even on the shift I was going to start.. it's pretty much get thrown to the wolves but it's not that hard atleast in a low.. like everyone here says just ask questions and don't try to act like a know it all, even if you have worked corrections before.
