  • Your math is wrong g, you make on average to $300 per shift of overtime (GL 8 step 10 more GL 5 step 1 less)
What? I said SOME, not ALL. Meaning, in one year, you can make only $300 from that one shift, or $30,000 from multiple shifts.

Some officers here are making $100,000 a year. We have a little more with a care level 3 medical with hospital OT but institution OT is off the hook too (and has been forever)
Isn't that exactly what I just said?

Down side to M/W you have the smallest shift co wrong for the biggest shift so less people to mandated from si comes around mor.
    Again, what?

    AND you edited that post...

    • Hi I'm new to the site and have been reading over a lot of comments. I've just received my interview for the BOP in Philadelphia, PA. I completed the OF-5 and my interview is Tuesday. What should I expect at the interview? Also I was told they do a credit check? Has anyone been denied for credit problems? Lastly what's the typical timeframe to hear back your interview? Any advice would be gladly appreciated

Not what I got out of your post. I was respectfully mentioned ing the math was wrong which it was. In your first post you intend you would only add 4-7k a year for OT. If your at any FCC with a USP and the mandate situation you will make far more than that (the 20k I referred about)

The only ones not making bank on OT is stand alone FCI's right now.

As far as edited look at the times, I did it right after to clean up what my phone tried to correct but think whatever.

Hello Kiem. Congrats on getting a interview. So u have a interview for FDC Philadelphia? When you interview you will take a computerized test, which u must past to go to the next step. Then you would meet with ur assigned HR specialist to go over your your credit, background, etc. "Yes" people get denied all the time for credit ptoblems. I did last year. Lol. But i cleared it up. If all is well; Then you will watch a video and have a writing sample afterwards. Then panel interview. After the interview process you will hear something the next day up to a week later to do your UA medical/eval = a conditional offer!!!

Is the UA/medical eval done at the prison or is it contracted out to a civilian provider near where you live?

              • Thank you for the quick response. Not to be too personal but was your credit really bad. I have 5 accounts in collections but 3 are from a divorce . My score is a 589. When you were denied how long did they give you to clear some things up ?

There was (unless they changes the amount t) an amount limit. Per an HR person. I use to work with it use to be anything over 1,000 but was raised to 5,000. But they also look at score as well.

As far as any credit "dings" many can be overlooked as long as you have an agreement to ay off the debt etc.

Your welcome. No it wasnt. I had one blemish which took forever to get a letter back of confirmation of payment so i missed out. U have to be current! If ur not, U need to have a payment arrangement in place. You need to show history of you living up to your obligation of the agreement.

                          • Shooter, you are absolutely correct. We are killing the OT at my joint right now, we got guys working 4 and 5 days OT every pp. I've got 32 hrs of OT and I got mandated twice.

                            • Does anybody know if BOP will do any paymatching from another federal agency or will they start you off at GL 5 or GL 6 step 1 no matter what?

They will match your closest base pay then compute the locality. For instance, if you were a GS9 step 1, you would be hired as a GL5 step 10, after one year GL6 step 10, after another year, GL7 step 9...
