  • LE to Corrections in Florida

I am LE certified in Florida. Is there a crossover program to become dual certified? All I see is crossover training from corrections to LE, not the other way around. Would I have to do the whole corrections academy? Hope I phrased this right. Thanks

The majority of people go corrections to LE however there is crossover training for what you want to do. You will not need to do the entire academy all over as long as you have been a certified employed LE deputy for a certain amount of time. Depending on what agency you are with or looking to go with you will be snatched up quick due to your experience and training. Hope this helps.

As said earlier most go Corrections to Police but, you can go Police to Corrections and become dual certified. Classes are like 3 times a week and a couple weekends. Which goes for a couple of months.
