Dealing with inmates is necessarily hard for me but I want to enforce laws and not dorm rules such as hats off in the building or having excess clothing or sneaking around to catch guys smoking cigarettes. My main thing is , I feel as if I hate doing this and enforcing these, is it the same as being the police and so would I hate that too? I don’t know. I really wanna be a state trooper and am just doing Corrections for now and am not dirty but I am super relaxed because it’s just not what I wanna do.
    Then leave.

The agency doesn't need crappy CO's and you are one with that attitude

Chances are you will also be a crappy cop also if that is the way you do a job

Since some people need to be told by notes in crayon .......Don't PM me with without prior permission. If you can't discuss the situation in the open forum ----it must not be that important

My new word for the day is FOCUS, when someone irritates you tell them to FOCUS

I started corrections for the state of Vermont after the Army. I knew what I was getting into and I knew it was closer aligned to me being a drill in the Army so the transition was easier. Also my goal was to be a cop down the road. It appears you did not do your research and you seem like the guy the squad room would vote out. My advice is quit, reflect, and pick a new career that you like.

I did corrections while I was in the Army. I will tell you the experience I gained there has been immensely helpful as I navigate a career on the road.
