    I need the basics of what to say and do in my testimonies in court. Whether a summary trial of full jury trial. Any advice would be appreciated as this is an area I need to improve. thanks.

    Your best bet is to talk to your local Prosecutor/DA and see what he/she likes in their testimony.

      How to testify in court:

      Here's my two cents:

      1) Always tell the truth. Even if you think telling the truth makes you look bad or hurts the prosecution's case. The quickest way to ruin a law enforcement career is to lie in court.

      2) Listen to the question and make sure you understand it before your begin your answer. If you don

        Go to court on your days off or after shift and watch other officers testify. You'll learn what to do and what not to do.

          If you can find any publications or material advising on cross-examination for defence counsel (usually available in bookshops that stock materials for the legal profession) they can be useful.
