I will say something about the old AR.. It required one to either go to FLETC or a state academy prior to assuming LE duties. Too many of the eff'in chiefs and PM's whined about training time and the costs now you have this mess.

Thats exactly it. Up at Drum, we actually went through a state run curriculum, taught by state instructors, giving us state certification, however, since we were federal, no one recognized the certification. Our attrition rate was around 35% as it was, let alone getting recognized. Our officers were dropping like flies, including myself who moved on to 'real' agencies, with 'real' authority.

We sent some of our new Civilians and MP's to a state academy run by the local police department, and they all had good things to say. Though, I plan to move on to a real department, Army has a long way to go and even DOD wide to get where law enforcement is today, I blame the hire ups that havent' worked the streets or a case since 1975 that are still working up there today.

Ok, finally got it to load. Only a few changes made that i could see. PT test offer a waiver and alt events........cred's are slightly difference (and no you dont have to turn them in), sets standards for laterals (about time),......and puts the right to carry PERSONAL weopons off duty is put in the hands of the installation commanders (hope you got good one, we do).......well thats all i saw, guess i can live with it, however would like to see the PCA thing thrown out the window and forgotten about.

Never ask a man if he served in the Marine Corps! If he earned the title "Marine" he will tell you, if he didn't, there is no need to embarrass him.

You know, I worked for both the Army and the Air Force. I thought the Army was jacked up until I started working for the AF side. If you decide to transfer, go to a large installation with lots of activity. And trust me when I tell you, you will get lots of activity and lots of calls on large Army bases. There is no comparrison between the two.
