Ow. that hurts. For the record, I wasmnt separated for any fault of my own, nor did I fail to meet medical/physical blah blah blah. For specifics, feel free to PM me - its no secret anymore. Something that precludes me from military service shouldnt preclude me civilian surface. At least, that is my hope.

General discharges can be given for a multitude of things, drug offences, domestics, AWOL/Desertion, all kinds of things, is it right? No but it happens for various reasons. No one is saying a person who has any type of General discharge cannot be employed in federal service, they are just saying not in federal LE. One way to think about it is like this, many people fail out of police academies every year, for various reasons, that are not nesicarly bad things, however they are disqualified from employment with that department again, same thing here.It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.Comment

They hand out GHC discharges all the time now. Even to officers now days. But you do not get a GHC discharge for AWOL, Drugs, domestic violence. You will get a BCD or worse. Pretty much if you get in trouble, and its not a felony type thing, you are going to get a GHC discharge. I was kicked out for frat, got a GHC, after 11 years, 3 deployments, nummerous medals, and not one bad peace of paper on me....now I am labled. its BSComment

No. That was taken off of a DLA page as I posting what is to be come the new standards DoD wide for civilian officers. DoN police officers from NDW will most likely stay either training in DC or will attend navy training in Norfolk.I don't answer recruitment messages....Comment

I have applied online and submitted my resume via the army's resume builder site. This was a few months ago and I have heard nothing. Rumor has it that you need a contact whos on the department to get your resume/application pushed to the right person to get it looked at and they never pool from online applicants which is hard for me to believe. Is this truly the case? or does it just take a really long time for them to get around to making calls in reference to starting the process. Any info would be great. I've put in for about 5 different locations.Comment

The process is slow, and can take many months. Also, announcements can be canceled at any time, even after a certification. You just have to keep applying.Comment
