I'm a current IL resident and was wondering what the chances are they would hire someone from IL?

I'm also from Illinois, and I imagine if they do not hire me, it won't be because I currently live out of state. I think if you're the best candidate, you'll get hired. I'm doing test prep and working out even harder. Good luck.

You'll be fine in that regards. I wouldn't think MPD would hold your residency against you as they actively hold recruitment sessions throughout the Midwest. The Board Interview and Chief's Interview will make or break your opportunity to join their department.
