They will have you self certify your results and if you get hired you will have to pass the assessment or face termination.

Yes. "Sworn officer positions with the USCP are subject to the mandatory retirement provisions of the Capitol Police Retirement Act which require officers to separate/retire from the USCP by age 57."

Does anyone know the drug policy for the USCP? I have only smoked marijuana a few times in my life , but in wondering is it 2 years before you can apply? 1 year? If anyone knows , let me know!

Are you sure they're making you do the PT test? I applied a few weeks ago and the emails said that due to COVID, they aren't doing the PT tests for hiring right now. They're just making you "certify" that you meet the minimum standards.

bigbob once you get further in the hiring process you will be required to go to DC and complete a 1.5 mile run, 300 meter sprint and a certain amount of pushups depending on your age in 1 minute

After I applied and submitted my personal history statement it took months to hear back. But after that and you take the POST exam the process moves quickly. That’s how it was for me

I submitted my PHS to my investigator about 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything . I believe the process only has us travel to DC once due to covid restrictions which is nice. Not sure how long this entire process will take though

I took the POST 02/23/21 and was informed on 03/04 that I passed. He said it'll take a few weeks for someone to reach out with the next steps. Hopefully I'll hear something by this week.
