USSS CAT Operators

Are USSS counter assault team (CAT) operators special agents or uniformed personnel? Also does the ERT unit travel with the president and other VIP's?
I've searched the forums and havent located one with this topic. Thanks in advance.

Bluefuz, do some research and you can find the info, at least the generalized info. 297 is right that this can lead to classified info that shouldn't be provided but if you look at certain websites regarding specialized teams and services you can find the answer. It took me two minutes. The information you will obtain will not provide strategies and weaknesses that will allow you or anybody else to do any harm.....goodness....
