HB 2109: Proposal to protect VA deputies

Virginia Delegate Charles W. Carrico has introduced HB 2109, a proposal to amend Virginia's Law Enforcement Officers' Procedural Guarantee Act. The current law, which specifically excludes sheriffs deputies, provides basic guidelines for internal investigations of officers accused of misconduct. If HB 2109 is signed into law, those basic guidelines would be applicable to sheriffs deputies that are accused of violating policy. I encourage all Virginians express support for HB 2109 to their representatives in the state government.
