  • Henrico sheriff correctional deputy

Have a few questions about the posting.

It's dcjs certified but while working for the department are you considered a police officer or still corrections?

How hard is it to transfer after a few years onto the street as an officer? If at all possible.

Do they still do take home cars for working in the sheriff office?

Any information would be great as far as a good or bad choice.

    Thanks

You are only corrections. You may go serve warrants but thats it.

You have to go through the entire 32 week Henrico County Police Academy.

I dont know about the take home cars for the sheriffs office.

Thanks for the response, but as far as transferring to the police department once hired here, do you have a higher chance of that happening or are you just like anyone applying. Im looking into the police and was wondering if this is a good route to take as a "foot in the door"

I can't speak about how much easier it is to get in once you are a deputy. But Why not try to apply for Henrico PD right off
