Arlington PD and Sheriff's Dept. applicant with no experience? How competitive?

It seems as if most Va. dept's prefer those with experience. I'm looking at Arlington Pd and Sheriff's Dept. What are the chances of getting on with no experience? How many open positions to applicants is there usually? Do they go by Civil Service or pick who has the most experience?

No one here can answer that question for you. Talk to a recruiter at both of the agencies and ask them, most people will be honest with you and let you know the chances. I can tell you this is a very competitive career if you want this job, your going to have to earn it and apply to a lot of places.
