Whats with Arlington

Some people took this personally so i am going to delete this post so i dont hurt feelings. Im sorry if i hurt your feeling or what not. My bad. I am not anti LE since i am about to be LE, i just have a huge problem with one (only one) dept and it happens to be the place i live so i see them work everyday.

i have a friend who works for Arlington and He loves it! Never heard anything bad about it except that there is alot of politics! But thats every where you go nowadays!

I live in Arlington right now and i hate it. I plan on moving to Mansfield or Fort Worth once i finish academy. I mean 45 min response for a burglary in progress is just awful.

Move to South Arlington, its still nice there, because Mansfield might be too far. And we have handguns for that little 45 minute response time problem, but the response time is not so bad on this side of town.

I am in south Arlington. i lived in North Arlington for 10 years then moved to south Arlington for the last 11 years. I have slowly watched this place go down. South Arlington has turned pretty bad. I live in one of the last "nice" areas and it is starting to turn bad.

Well, dont move to Houston . I find 45 mins response time for an IP call hard to believe for a municipality, unless it was a BMV and Ofcs in that district were tied up on a higher priority call.

Its normal for Arlington its just how they work.

Man if all you are going to do is come on the board and rag on police departments you might as well just get off as fast as you got on. There are many APD people on here along with other officers who don't want to hear you bad mouthing other departments.

I have my final board with them this week and have seen nothing but positive from them. Unless you have some specific reasons or issue with them quit bad mouthing.

rx8racr, PMs are meant to be private messages. Don't bring what someone told you privately into the public forum in an attempt to start something. The Texas forums have been very civil and we don't need this changing.
I also share a lot of respect for Arlington PD, but every department has its faults, although response times are very hard to manage and also are hard to deal with without extra municipal support through budgeting.

I totally agree just dont want anyone bagging other depts esp one that I might be working for very soon. My beef is over. I love the texas thread and will continue to make it professional.

Easy there killer. I am already hired with a dept so i have a lot of respect for the police since i am about to be a cop in November when i graduate. I am not some punk kid who hates the police and just wants to bash them. I have had MANY negative run ins with APD. I have also had a lot of problems with them.

So easy there man. Im not here to bash the police since i am about to be the police. i just have a major problem with one (and only one) pd in the DFW area.
