I still have a few more months before I can apply to Arlington. But, I am looking forward to it. How long did the whole hiring process take? Advice wise do you think it would be smart for me to apply to Dallas the same time I apply to Arlington? After my military service I have 2 months where I will still be receiving a pay check after that I will have no more money coming in and I will still have mouths to feed so I am hoping the process is quick.

the whole process from the initial interview to the hiring phase took only 4 weeks for me, but make sure you have EVERYTHING in order before you apply. i did and everything went very smoothly. i had an awesome BI and that helped alot. the average hiring process for arlington (if everything is ok in your background) is 4 weeks. i wouldnt apply to dallas if you do arlington. i did that and was smart enough to withdraw my name from concideration before the final board (they will ask you if you have applied to any other agencies..and they WILL know the truth so dont lie to them). arlington does not want to spend time or money on you if you apply to a big department like dallas because they are hurting for personnel and would most likely hire you. believe me, they WILL find out if you applied anywhere else. like i said, they have very good BIs. it is understandable with only 2 months of salary left from the military that you want to get on with an agency as soon as possible. i was in your shoes also. i got my masters from southern miss and out of work until getting hired by arlington, so i was going to apply to several agencies. you should know if they are serious in hiring you within 3 weeks after the initial interview. after the physical agility test (happens the same day as the initial interview), if there is slots available, the BI will set up your medical, psych, and polygraph. the BI will contact you when he starts the investigation and about 3 or 4 days later he will schedule you a final interview with him and a date for the final board. that is usually in the 3rd week.
