I applied as a Corrections Officer for FBOP back in 2012, but was denied employment due to previous drug use (mushrooms in 2008.) My question is, will this be a permanent disqualifier for future attempts at employment with FBOP?

Yes... your information will be in their database and once a disqualifier, always a disqualifier. Even if you lie on your new application, they would still have your previous information. Unless they change their policy on drugs, and get a little lenient, it's a permanent disqualifier.

      Gotcha. Thank you, Gabru.

I work for the BOP and that will not be a permanent disqualifier. I've seen people get disqualified and apply again later and get hired on. I've been with the BOP for a few years now and its one of the best kept secrets. Depending on what institution you work at, you can easily make $100k or more with shift differential, holiday pay, and overtime.
