ok
i applied with mesquite pd in january 07. i passed the writting, physical, poly and the board which was the hardest one. they put me through the background investigator. i supposed to be in february academy i called the background to check on my status and he told me (.do not call me). i said ok and the bakground check never started and i received a letter saying that i was discontinued from the process. i could not believe it i had to read the letter 5 times to make sure that what it was saying was correct. i m 100 % sure i have nothing because i already passed a backgrund with other agency and never being i trouble never. in the end i told to myself that i did a mistake to apply with small department being minority. keep in mind that i have a bachelor's degree and i speak 4 laguages.
well i decided to apply with other department and i never knew why i was discontinued. but they were called and defenetely not professional.Last edited by Guest; 03-27-2007, 09:13 PM.

The only thing i can think of is that you were disqualified for not following directions. Some departments are really big about not calling and checking on where you are in the process. Shame if that was it though. Where you applying now? Arlington P.D. is a place I would consider if I were you, or DFW airport with your languages.Romans 13:4 "For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil."

I do not work for Mesquite...but I do know they require a very good credit rating for all their officers. If you have ANYTHING derogatory on your credit that may have disqualified you...regardless of circumstances (which is odd the majority of officers in the workforce are either divorced or getting divorced..statistically speaking...LE has the highest divorce rate....and most peoples credit gets ruined in a divorce...I.E MINE LOL)

long story short. at this present time i m in process with three departments in one time. for the one i passed the background i did not pass the board. and how i knew the background did not start because none of my friends or employers were contacted. and another thing if an agency is fair and truthfull they won't make you sign a paper saying don't ask why we discontinue your process i will understand if they make you sign a piece of paper saying don't sue us.Last edited by Guest; 03-27-2007, 09:58 PM.

Originally posted by dfwblueBackground checks go way beyond contacting past employers and your friends. It is unfair on your part to accuse them of not doing your background, when in all actuality you were probably dismissed before they got to the point of contacting your references. If you did not like signing a piece of paper then maybe you shouldn't have continued the process from the start.Last edited by mansouri1945; 03-27-2007, 11:12 PM.

1. You posted about resigning from a prior job due to safety concerns of two consecutive 16 hour days. Then you state that after resigning you decide to file racial claims against the company......a claim you lost at trial by your own admission. By the way, I am sure this employer probably did not give you a good recommendation.
2. You also stated in a thread about polygraphs that they are real, and that they got you on a question. That would infer that you were dishonest on a polygraph and got caught. Probably not what a PD would be looking for in an officer.
3. You slam Mesquite PD for dropping you as a candidate and make unfounded accusations against them (ie, they did not do the background, not a good idea to apply with them because you are a minority). Sounds like you have a case of "the world gave me the short end of the stick" syndrome.
Sorry, I know this is the internet and all, and I do not know how you present yourself in person, but on face value.....these are not traits that PD's are looking for in a candidate.

Originally posted by dfwblueWell, unfortunately for you that is the way the hiring process is sometimes. After reading some of your additional posts made on this site, I can see why you may not be an attractive candidate.

about polygraph i stated that i passed two of them including with mesquite because i have nothing to hide even if the examiner tells you that you lied in some questions.and i never said that they got me in a question because i m fully honest and have nothing to hide.
third i never slamed mesquite. i said that i had bad experience with them such as passing everything and they disqualified me with no reason. and i believe same as for applicants have to be honest and tell everything to the background investigator they should at list give you a call or be more professionel about it.
i never said that mesquite pd are racist against minority applicants. i said that because they never told me why i was disqualified probably they chose somebody else from the majority whites and i was the only minority.
i m pretty sure that the background never started and i will say it again that i did the mistake to go and apply there (my own opinion).
i guaranty you i have no syndrome.
plus you don' t know my background neither my education so don't judge me.
summary mesquite is a very highly paid department with good officers but the investigator who dealt with me was not at all professionel.
and without bragging about myself i m over qualified for mesquite and happy i was disqualified.
thanksLast edited by mansouri1945; 03-28-2007, 04:02 AM.
