    It was suggested I post this in the Texas forums. I applied for UNT PD over 4 months ago and the BI assigned to me said that over 600 applied. Do I even have a sliver of a chance at being hired? I'm still in the first step (PHS review).

    Sure. It all depends on the results of the testing, interviews, etc.

        How do they determine which candidates are best qualified for the job?

        Here's a hint - if you are applying for a professional position that requires its staff to be highly skilled, yet the prospective employer has no means of determining which applicants are best qualified to perform those duties (or if they are even qualified at all) then that is probably not a good place to work.

          Good PD. went there and they have a bunch of good guy and tons of OT. I think they are fairly proactive for a college.
