I am looking to buy a shotgun for on duty. I would like to buy something nice and I am thinking of a Remington 870 Express or Remington 870 Police Edition? Just looking for some good advice.

Find out what personally owned firearms are approved for duty before you do anything else. The ones you mentioned are well-suited for police use. One problem with having a nice shotgun is that it doesn't stay nice packing it around, switching from car to car.

We have had good results running Mossberg 590A1s with surefire fore-ends.

Mossberg 500 Tactical. Although I would love to have one in 20 guage instead of 12 for training purposes. Damned thing gets to be painful after a while.In God We Trust

If you want a lesser expensive version of the Remington 870, look at the Pardner Pump. It's about half the price, operates just like an 870, and has a nice short pump action.Last edited by Rudy8116; 06-03-2014, 02:02 PM.I yell "PIKACHU" before I tase someone.Comment
