    Either 2 years in the jail or 30 hours of college, I had a friend test last month, from the jail, and she said there were people that tested that didn't work at the county

    I thought you had to work in the jail for 2 yrs before you could apply for patrol? They're hiring from the outside now?

    8 hour shifts, set days off, year probation, to get descent days off you need to be there a while, seniority based days off, worked there for 2 years, still have some friends that still work there, haven't had a raise in over 2 years due to the county budget, tmrs retirement, they test for deputy every year, it's a easy job, lots of good people work there, fun sometimes too, pm me if you have any more questions

    I'm looking for info on Dallas County Sheriffs Department DSO position. All of the salary and benifits info is on the dallas county website but what im not finding is what schedules are like 8's, 10's, or 12's? do you rotate days off? any info is greatly appreciated.
