Few Questions: Houston Police Department

Hello,
brand new to the forum here, nice to be here and hello!

I am trying to get into HPD for the March 29 class. I just finished up my medical evaluation and psychological evaluation, I think I passed everything. I just finished up the psychological evaluation yesterday and the medical the day before. Just curious on how long until I hear back from HPD on my results....nerve racking just waiting and waiting and waiting for a life changing event


Also I want to buy my weapons early to make it financial easier on me, I have heard that your off duty and on duty weapon we have to buy both correct? Also I am told that you can carry a Sig Sauer .40 the 226 ? Can I just buy two of the same guns, what all types of guns are allowed both on duty and off duty ?

No telling how long you will wait, especially with only two classes next year. You buy your own weapons. All the duty weapons have to be .40 cal. You can currently carry:
Springfield XD
Glock 22 or 23
Sig 226 or 229
S&W M&P

great thank you. I have heard great reviews on the sig...thinking I am going to go with that, what does everyone else use and why?

Anyone that went through the process, how long did you have to wait after having psychological and medical evaluation until you heard back from them?
