No it's not far at all. It's Austin, Round Rock, then Georgetown. You can get to downtown Austin in 30 minutes if not less depending on traffic.

Right now I'm an intern, academy starts Sept 28 but I love DPS. Couldn't ask for a better, more conservative dept.

Maybe thats why the bonus to get you there? - It is not that far from Austin right? How is the TX DPS?
Might at least be a Dept to get my exp rolling - that is how im looking at my options and of course if I fall in love with the Dept I would stay

I live in the area but work for DPS. I think they work 12's, and get take home cars. As far as the area, not much goes on . Georgetown is an older population.

Any insight on the dept? Likes? Dislikes? Area? good,bad ugly?
