  • Franklin, Tn area info

Hey, I am a LEO in Georgia. My family and I will be in Franklin, Tn for a few days at the end of this week/first of next week for a film shoot (daughter is a movie star). I have never been to Franklin and just wanted to know if there is anything worth checking out as far as tourist attractions or somewhere I can kill some time while the rest of the family is living out their Hollywood fantasy dreams.. I play and collect guitars and enjoy most music, but not a big fan of the country music scene. A nice mall or ice cream shop would be good. I would also like to visit a WhiteCastle restaurant in a nice, safe area and see if they really tast like Krystals. Are there any areas one should avoid?? Any information provided would be greatly appreciated.

Come on down 65 North to Armory Drive and Thompson Lane, and hit The Guitar Center at 100 Oaks, and then WhiteCastle down on the corner of Thompson Lane, and Nolensville Rd. Same WhiteCastle manager on the grill during the day for over 20+ years.

Guitar Center is the world's largest musical instruments retailer. Shop Guitars, Bass, Drums, Amps, DJ, Keyboards, Pro-Audio and more. Most orders ship free!

I will also be in the williamson county area this next week. Check out the country music hall of fame downtown. Worth the trip. Where are you staying during your visit?

If you're about some southern food, try out Monell's on the square as well.

Thanks for the info. We are actually staying (here now) at a motel near the Cool Springs mall. All filming will take place near the downtown area of Franlkin so I will be roaming around checking out the area while the rest of the family is at the film shoot- then I guess a trip to Country Music H.O.F. and White Castle- and the guitar store. Also want to check out the old mill mall here not sure what it is called, but everyone is talking about it. Strong police presence in the area - makes us feel alot safer while out on the town. Thanks again.

Franklin and Brentwood have an EXTREMELY high presence in their own cities.

If I had seen this thread in time, I would have invited you to the big to-do that was the burial of a civil war soldier's remains that were found recently. Of course it didn't excite me since I had to come in on my day off to deal with the traffic (I work for Franklin PD in the traffic unit), but apparently it attracted lots of attention.

                      At any rate, enjoy Franklin.

Just wanted to say -wow- Could not believe how clean downtown Nashville is. It was really nice, unlike Atlanta which is basically a ghetto/dump except for a few small locations. And Franklin and Brentwood are great cities- great restaurants, nice people, cool shopping (The Factory was a family favorite-got a cool guitar!) and beautiful houses. We had fun and my wife/daughter fell in love with the area. We can't wait to go back. Thanks for the good times.
