  • Further info on Greenville County SO if anyone has it

I'm currently employed in SC so lateral transfer wouldn't be a problem. Looking to be closer to the mountains and make more money. I have heard mixed things about GCSO, good and not so good. The not so good things honestly sounded like it was from someone who just didn't fit in which is entirely possible. I've been in the job for a bit, this being my third agency due to an out of state switch, no other reason than that. I don't mind where I'm at, but the lack of pay is killing me and morale as a whole just isn't where I'm at.
How is the morale at GCSO? How is the likelihood of getting promoted if you're good at your job opposed to being best friends with brass? Does GCSO recognize good cops or just help out their friends?

I do not want to work for a city, so GPD would be out of the question unless it was an offer I couldn't refuse.

I have also been told to look into Mauldin PD by a friend....any good insight on them regarding pay and morale?
