Beaufort County Sheriffs???

Any deputies from Beaufort on here? I have a friend who lives in Bluffton and works as a fireman and he keeps trying to get me to apply to Beaufort Sheriffs office. I'm just looking for any info at all about the department. I am not familure with the dept at all. How is the pay, retirement, advancement???? Any info at all would be great. Thanks!

I applied there about a month ago (from out of state) and about 2 wks. later they sent out letters to my neighbors and references. Depending what type of experience you have depends on the starting pay and rank. If you have 5 yrs. on the job you get start as a corporal. Pay for me is 32k while attending the academy. The do 12 hr. shifts, pitman 7-7.
If you call you speak with a Ssgt. who is very helpful.

No, I'm not sure. Try giving the Ssgt a call. He's very approachable and nice.

I work for the sheriff's office. The pay is not bad for South Carolina base pay is I think 31K . As for advancement you will get bumpped up to a higher rank every 18 mos. untill you make CPL. after that, its up to them how far you go up. Retirement we have a 401K and a 451 or something you can pick from. aswell as the SCPO retirement. All around good dept. I PMed you if you have any more questions.
