The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Public Safety Officer on campus. Will be responsible for enforcing laws, ordinances, regulations and ensures personnel and property are secure. When necessary, exercises independent judgment to make immediate decisions, responds to all campus emergencies, prepares police blotters, maintains equipment and facilities, and secures keys, monies, and evidence. Patrols assigned area to prevent crime and detect violations of law.
Responds to complaints, reports of violations and requests for assistance. Issues warnings and citations to violators, apprehends and arrests violators, investigates accidents, directs traffic and controls crowds. Performs general police work such as maintaining order during emergencies, participating in manhunts and providing executive protection. Testifies in court and other legal proceedings. Keeps records and makes reports regarding activities. Provides guidance and on-the-job training to other law enforcement personnel.
