I know there have been threads posted before, but, I have a few questions.
1- How long is the academy?
2- Is there FTO after you graduate?
3- How many years does it take for top pay?
4- How many years is retirement? How many years till vested?
5- Does the department issue tasers?
6- How are the physical requirements during the academy? How often is PT?
7- Once you graduate is there a lot of overtime you can work?

Just some questions I wanted to ask. Any information would be great. Thank You.

I left the city a few months ago for the burbs but not much has changed.

1- How long is the academy? 8 months. Give or take.
2- Is there FTO after you graduate? No
3- How many years does it take for top pay? 5
4- How many years is retirement? How many years till vested? Depends on when you were hired. I believe its 25 now. 10
5- Does the department issue tasers? Yes, but only if you go through CIT training.
6- How are the physical requirements during the academy? How often is PT? MPO standards. Once a week. Do it on your own time.
7- Once you graduate is there a lot of overtime you can work? Totally depends on your district. And even that depends (activity/arrests/who you drink coffee with from the Captain's Office/etc.)
