SUMMARY: The Bucks County Rangers are responsible for educating, protecting, and serving the lives and property of all persons who visit the parks and facilities of the County of Bucks parks system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Patrols and secures parks enforcing park regulations, Pennsylvania Crime Code, Motor Vehicle Code and Fish and Game Laws.
Checks and sells camping and boating permits.
Assists the public in using the parks and related facilities and provides information and assistance upon request.
Administers first aid when necessary.
Safeguards parks and related facilities.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned/required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be 21 years old.
Ability to deal effectively with the public.
Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
Must be capable of passing physical and psychological testing as required.
Must possess average swimming skills.
Must possess Act 120 Training.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and with explosives; and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
