NYPD Academy Parking and Carpooling

I am starting the Academy in October and I’m really stressing about parking. I am traveling from Long Island I was hoping to get some insight as far as the parking situation, what time I should get there to find parking, is there ample street parking around the area, and hoping that there are some people on this forum that would be willing to carpool who will be going to the Academy as well. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated
