New York State Police 2022 Application/Processing

I noticed is didn't see a group for NYSP.

I scored in the top 6000. I honestly just rushed through the test. Its a drastic change compared to when I took the test in 2017. In 2017 I scored a 90% and was about 13,000th on the list. This go around i scored only an 80% and was around 5,900th. It would be great if they changed their tattoo policy.

As of now, yes. Rumor has it they're reevaluating the tattoo policy due to ongoing recruitment issues and attrition rates. I also turn 30 in August, so this was my last chabce to take the exam.

I scored 80% list number 5,8XX. Definitely one of the hardest exams I have ever took.

Will you even get a call if you’re in the 57xx range?

They will call the top 2-3k off the list for processing for the first round. I’ve heard for the next class they are looking at 300 people at 2 locations.

If you get hired by NYPD, your better bet is to transfer out to the town/village jobs in Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, Suffolk. You'll likely make more money in the long run instead of going to State Police. SP is a great job but it's not for everybody and it's not a cake walk to get into. They don't waive the academy so you'd have to do it all over again

Son scored 87 and ranked 2,750 what are his chances to get called?

100% chance. May get called for July processing, if not then the next processing (I would say 90% chance in 2022). But things are always fluid.

Low 80s and you’re in the 3k Wow. I was 96 in 2013 and was 14k. Guess no one wants this job lol. If you didn’t score above a 95 you weren’t getting called in tests prior. Scary.

50k took it when I took it. It has been significantly reducing each time. Not sure what you’re saying is “untrue.” But go through the process you’re in the early stages. Get on the road. See ya out there. It’s a great job.
