Hello everyone, did anybody took the orange and newburgh exam? Is there different dates or locations?

Anyone hear back from this department? Got a call around 2 weeks ago saying they would be sending out background packets, but nothing has come so far.

Still waiting too. Supposed to get the background packet soon.

Crazy thing is I was told by their civil service commission, if I took the duchess exam, I didn’t have to take the middletown PD exam. I send the application, money order and dutchess proof of score. And middletown never send me anything proving that I was good. I’m still in limbo in regards to this. Email their head person , with no reply back.

Residency within 25 miles in a straight line from the City (as the crow flies)

If you’ve taken the Orange County Test from September of 2021, you can transfer your score to the Middletown Test without sitting. It’s the same test just given on a different date, so the City will honor the score and place you on the list , but you’ll still need to file and pay the fee. It’s basically a cross-file.

From my understanding, you need residency 6 months after being hired

"RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Police Officer candidates must reside within NY State at the time of appointment and within 25 miles of the City of Middletown six (6) months of appointment."

I wonder if they have a residency list or is It just an open competitive list based on score. I know a few people from NYC that would take this exam if they had a chance

Just recently announced exam for April 9, 2022. A Great job with community and local government support.
