  • NYPD Background Investigation

    Hey guys,

I was just wondering how long does it typically take for your background investigation to be cleared once your investigator submits your file?

I have passed all aspects of the hiring process but when I contacted candidate relations, they told me that my background wasn't completed yet. I then contacted my investigator and she informed me that my file was submitted earlier this week. I was just wondering if it it possible for me to get into this upcoming academy on the 24th if my file was submitted just 2 weeks before the academy start date? I am exam 8339 if that matters.

    Thank you guys

Backgrounds can take a while. You're just gonna have to wait...

      One week to a year.

Often backgrounds are not completed until you are far along in the academy. I've seen people pulled out a few weeks before graduation and fired due to background issues.

          Good Afternoon Everyone,

Quick question. Does having a infraction for DWAI from 2 years ago will disqualify you from the NYPD process. I am currently in the process and my initial interview is in June. Thanks.

          I will appreciate any feedback.......
