Took the Dec 19 exam. Passed physical in July. Did not get a COE that was sent out in early November. Will more be sent? Or am I SOL. I work with a kid who got one. They told him dec to January is when they are trying to hire. He has just the psych left.

Not all COE's have gone out yet. Sounds like 25 will be hired this year and another 25 early next year. All rollovers. Civilians will be hired middle of next year possibly in July.

You didn’t answer it. Where are you getting these numbers from. How do they pick who moves on if their isn’t a list number. I said the mta told my boy December to January for him and you got butt hurt about it.

rock101 if a person received a COE and passed everything they will be hired in January (thats what it states). If they failed something they will be DQ. There is no rollover that take everything and pass and have to wait til the next hire.

Two days ago I would have agreed with you. The information I received from the applicant guys this week would suggest that out of everyone who passes everything, there will be a lottery and anyone who is not selected from the lottery will be waiting. Not DQ’d but waiting. I hope you’re the one who is right however.

They aren't "supposed to go out" any particular time. It'll be when someone gives the go-ahead to actually hire people and no one is sure yet exactly when it will be other than early in the year supposedly.

That’s the projected hiring date, with the COE to expire after that point. I guess a better question would have been, how far in advance from your hiring date (between 12/20/20 and 1/20/21) would one receive their email offering them final employment. 3 weeks? A week? 4 days?

For anyone following, the MTA is set to approve its budget on Wednesday the 16th, which assumes Sen. Schumer can deliver on the federal bailout by the end of January. This budget will allegedly avoid most layoffs and service cuts. I am just taking a guess here, but this sounds like good news for anyone who is hopeful to join their police dept.
