Not many people remember what their take home pay was in the academy. Plus it all depends on the individual's W-4. You know what the starting salary is so that's all you need.

Nypd is 2 weeks and Mtapd is weekly.

No, a maximum of five years counts up front and anything over 5 goes on the back end. You lose no time.

If you have 10 years with NYPD and rollover you have to do 15 years with MTAPD and can then retire with pension credit for 25 years of service.

Not true. You transfer your entire pension over but you would still have to do 15 years with MTA before retiring.

Everyone starts at 42k. You'll be able to rollover your entire NYC police pension or NYS PFRS into the MTA Police Pension. A maximum of 5 years can be deducted from the 20yr retirement.

If anyone knows about laterals and city time. I see they said all new MTA hires start at 42k? If you’re already a NYS certified and you get hired by MTA I’m assuming you start at 42k? Is my understanding correct?

Called BSC to inquire about an exam date being that I received the prep email on 04/01 & was told by a service representative that more pft emails for the MTA Police officer position will still be sent out & to check my email periodically.
