I received the same email. I'm just going to assume because the email says "get ready" that we should be expecting a PFT date. Im a civilian as well.

I got the email as well. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the possible invitation? I have an Appendectomy surgery later this month, I won't be able to go back to training until after I recover.

I took the exam with a friend, I didnt get the email but my friend did. He is current law enforcement. Anyone current law enforcement that got the email as well? Trying to pass on information for him

I got the email as well. I am a current LEO but was a civilian at the time that I applied for the exam. I asked last year if I could change my status to a LEO now that I’m on the job, but the MTA representative told me that I would have to wait until I meet the panel... or something in that nature. Not sure if this PT test is strictly for civilians. Guess I’ll find out once the invites are sent out.

Gotcha, My friend is in the same boat as you. I asked one my friends dad who just retired from MTA and said as long as you have an academy you wont have to do another one. His son in law did an academy upstate and now is on the job for MTA. His academy was in Ulster County where you pay for your own certification .

got the email for ‘preparation’ ..that means prepare. It’s embarrassing how many people won’t pass. I’d say 1/4 fail. Better odds for me..but if you want a good career get off the couch.

What if your about to go into the academy for nypd, how can I arrange my appointments for Mtapd.

I am a civilian and took the physical over summer and still waiting for a new investigator. Hopefully, things start moving along. Anyone have any insight on civilians who passed panel and physical but, waiting for new investigator? HighwayBob

"Waiting for a new investigator" is not holding you up. What happened to your "old" investigator?

Corey1886 if you have to ask this it seems like you don't pay too much attention. It's the Cooper Standard. Sit-ups/push-ups are scored based on how many are performed in one minute.

My coworker who took the exam in 2019 and is a UMOS has a physical this upcoming Saturday in Staten Island. They sent him an email last month.

Hey HighwayBob I know you get bombarded with questions and you're retired (congrats!) , but I tired reaching out to a friend who works with MTAPD, unfortunately he is stuck in Columbia with Covid and isn't much help to me as he has bad reception. Do you think they'll deny me if I tell them I am having appendectomy surgery? I need time to recover, Is there any way that they'll postpone me for the next physical? I don't know if I should email them and ask. My coworker told me they might just deny it. :/

I assume you mean Colombia (the country), not Columbia, which is a city in South Carolina.

I have no idea what to tell you. They will probably be having a limited number of test dates for the PFT. Did you get a date for your PFT? Or are you just assuming they will schedule you for when you'll be out?

HighwayBob Yes the country, haha. I haven’t gotten a date yet, but yes I’m just worried that I won’t be ready if they get to emailing me in a month or 2, since I can’t train atm. I guess we’ll have to wait and see! Hope for the best. Thank you!
