There are no dates planned as of now. No one knows for sure what the status of hiring is now.

Ugh im mad af smh i missed this pt cuz of my procrastination smh. I applied to nj transit but feel id of had a better shot with mta. Nj transit only hires like 10 ppl

for nj transit physical i did the following:

1 minute
sit ups 47
push ups 49
300 meter run 62 secs
1.5 12:52 wasnt trying to kill myself
Not bad for an old guy. Stay ready so u dint have to get ready..

L3o1112 , This isn’t an opportunity you want to miss... Getting selected for the exam is already a longshot. Luckily I was selected and passed on 12/15 but I haven’t heard anything about an interview or pft as of yet. As of right now everything is on hold for multiple reasons out of our control.

Mike_lowrey I already missed out on it , i didnt get mta medical paper signed in time smh.. like i have time on my side. I think i would of had a decent chance to get in, its hard to get in here in jersey , im not too optimistic nj transit will select me but well see. Supposedly if u pass physical & written its random if u go to background/ interviews smh. Im apluing to agencies in DC us supreme court, capitol police, secret service police..

Any news if the fiscal crisis or the anti police nonsense is going to cancel the completion of the 500 new hires? For those who passed the latest PFT is there any update for processing to continue in the near future?

There are no updates. At this time there MAY be a small hiring of rollovers from other police departments in the November timeframe but everything is still a big question mark.

Nope, I haven't heard anything since I passed the exam on 12/15. Between CV19, budget cuts, anti police rhetoric and political narratives idk whats worse for all state & local police applicants in NYS right now. God willing things will turn around for us. In the meantime, I'd suggest keeping your options open across the tri-state or across the country. Maybe even federal Le careers.

That test is a dead issue. No one will be hired off of that test. Any hiring that gets done in the near future will come from the 2019 test

Any idea if they’re going to announce a new test soon? And in regards to possibly hiring from other departments, do you think they’d offer them a test and expedite the process to backfill retirements?

I don’t think there is going to be a new test no time soon. Unless HighwayBob have some info regarding future announcements.

They just had a test. There will be no new written tests for at least two years.

They will not offer a special test for LEOs and nothing gets expedited for any group. Everyone goes through the same hiring process.
