Any news on the new putnam sheriff hiring more deputies?

I haven’t heard anything yet. I don’t even have my scores yet. How long does it take for them to send the scores ?

I heard from Carmel cop that next month they are apparently looking to hire 10 people. I don't t know about Kent and Sheriff's is looking for about 20 deputies in the near future but no information on when that's going to happen

I ran into a deputy yesterday he stated they are down about 9 road deputies.

He stated people use the sheriff's office to go else where turn over rate is increasing.

Has anyone received their scores for Dutchess county yet? I took the exam lSeptember 2021. And i still haven’t received it.

Anyone know which departments current have a test out fro September 2019? I know these ones currently do:
Livingston County: Deputy Sheriff/Police (Same application)
Steuben County: Police
Ontario County: County Police Officer & Police Officer (Different applications)
Monroe County: Deputy Sheriff/Police (Same application)
Erie County: Deputy Sheriff & Police Officer (Different applications)

Usually it takes about 5 to 6 months to get the results

Putnam will be interesting to watch. Generally there aren't many people hired from the Putnam list because there's only a handful of agencies and none of them are very big. The best chance would have typically been the sheriff's office however the new sheriff they just elected has not shown any interest in doing any hiring as of this time.

He is however causing a lot of issues by not keeping the normal minimum of deputies on the road and letting the shifts run very light (in addition to a few other things). I've already heard guys that work there are looking to go somewhere else so that may infact cause more vacancies than they anticipated and they would have to start hiring
