Hey does anyone know if Warwick PD has their own exam or do they go off of Orange County police test. Also how is the pay, contract, etc. lateral transfers from current NYC Cops? Thanks

Hey ladies and gents, I currently work with some PDs out here and was able to get some info. Still a while until we get results but here’s what I got so far; I will be asking other departments as I respond to scenes with those jurisdictions.

          Tonawanda: 16
          Cheektowaga: 14 (not counting retirements)
          hamburg: 2-4

Cheektowaga WILL canvas people who live in ALL areas with the requirement he/she move to Cheektowaga within 6 months of securing a job (post academy).

          - I’ll be following up with Amherst, orchard park as soon as I’m working with them!

Just took the Erie County Sheriff(Police Officer) Exam not too long ago, I believe it was September 14th 2019. I don't know much about it and there isnt much information on it. I don't know when they expect an academy, how grades/ranks are handled or anything. I'm in the final steps for New York State Police as well but I figured It could not hurt to take the Erie County Police Officer Exam on the side. Can anyone offer any information on what's next for erie county? Exam scores when.

Warwick is off the Orange County list. Don't know anything about the pay or contract. They do have a lot of NYC officers there both full time and part time.

Usually 90 days so if I had to guess I would say shortly after December 15th

It’s usually 3-6 months. The last exam took the entire 6 months. From the departments I have spoke to they each said they’re looking to pick up 10+ so with that I’m hoping the demand is high enough we receive them by December. We will know if within the next few weeks any of us start receiving canvas letters. They usually start sending the first round out before results are released to us. PDs Receive the results before we do. Let’s keep our finger crossed.

Jon001 so basically the villages/towns see our scores before we do and if they feel like we scored high enough to be hired by them they would send us canvass letters?

gkelly007 well yes and no, they do receive them before us but they work down that list in order. Everyone gets a number based on the score you get. They need to work from the highest score (110) down. There also are other factors such as where the person lives. Each dept gets a list of those who live in their respective town and a list of all scores. Usually they will reach out to those who live there first but they can’t canvas a 110 then next canvas a 80. They will works down the list by the number you are. The higher you score the better chances you get. 90 and above is where you want to be as many fail along the process. But the don’t get to choose who they canvas they will bring everyone in and weed them out in the process but everyone will have the chance as long as they get to your number. They will keep going down the list until all positions are filled. But even with a 90, if a lot of people score higher than that you could possibly wait 2 years before getting canvased. So pray you got the 100 or above.

Buffalo_17 you can go directly to personnel office where you dropped your application. The letter I received said rank 21 for sheriff and 31 for police. I’m not sure if that my overall rank for the exam or just rank for town/jurisdiction.

Is there a list you can look up to see where you rank on both lists, if so can you share?

Scored a 90 , already used my vets points for current job . Rank doesn’t matter in band score . They can select whoever they want in each score .. message me for scores if you’d like

If you do not live in Orange, but live in Rockland County what are the chances you’ll be considered ? Is it like the rockland test?

I didn't bomb the exam but I definitely did not do well. I scored top grades for troopers and had to defer until the class this fall but thought I'd take erie county anyway. On this Erie county exam I got an 85% and I'm ranked #200. I already know with that score and ranked I'm not going to be looked at canvassed or hired.

There is the possibility that some people will not pass the agility which improves your chances and if the test lasts for 2-3 years it might reach your rank number eventually. Don't give up hope!

Anyone get the notice to appear for the agility test June 17th? I have a question on the top it says something about November, are we meeting at that November location at ECC in orchard park?
